Light Space & Sign Depth… they’re the same thing right? Wrong! And it is very important to be able to distinguish between the two. ⚡️
So what exactly is the difference? 🤔
Sign Depth: The overall depth or the external measurement of the sign.
Light Space: The internal measurement of the space between the back of the module and face of the sign.
For example, if you have 60mm deep Channel Letters with a 10mm backing, this would mean that your internal lightspace is 50mm. This may not seem like much, but it does affect which modules may or may not be suitable for your project.
If you are unsure where to start, start with Bounce Wizard, our online LED layout tool. Bounce Wizard automatically calculates the best module for the job, and positions the modules in a way that ensures bright, even lighting, every time – taking the guess workout out of your LED signs.
At Bounce we carry a wide range of modules suitable for all sign depths and light spaces, right down to our Mini Series – our smallest modules ideal for tight and narrow lighting situations.
