What are the environmental impacts of LEDs? ♻️
Well, LED Lights are a very eco-friendly and sustainable choice when it comes to lighting – especially for signs that are often powered for hours at a time. They are up to 80% more energy-efficient than traditional lighting options, and are free from hazardous materials. They also have an even lower environmental footprint if recycled.
Did you know that the materials inside LEDs are all recyclable too? 🙌 By reusing existing materials for new products, we are conserving finite natural resources and reducing greenhouse gas emissions, compared to extracting and manufacturing new products from raw materials.
A number of waste management companies and lighting manufacturers offer recycling services for LEDs. Our favourite resource for Australia is Planet Ark – head to their website to find your local LED recycling service.
And don’t forget to check out Bounce Wizard, our online LED layout tool. Bounce Wizard automatically calculates the best module for the job, and positions the modules in a way that ensures bright, even lighting, every time – ensuring you only buy the exact amount of modules you need, no waste.
